By SentaiSeiya on April 07, 2013

Once again, SentaiSeiya and Jmann joining are forces to talk about dudes ( and a chick) in spandex suits beating the crap out of other dudes in suits.

SS:The episode starts out with a cute recap of the Kyoryuger’s goal, in the form a drawing by Daigo.

SUPER REVIEW TIME: Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger Brave 3!

By SentaiSeiya on March 05, 2013

SS: Kyoryuger Brave (Episode) 3 begins with a pun by Kyoryu Blue, who the group lovingly calls Nossan; this is a pun in itself because it sounds like Ossan, which means old man.

Choujin Sentai Jettooo-xercise!

By SentaiSeiya on October 17, 2012

Choujin Sentai Jetman is quite possibly THE best Super Sentai show. It really had a lot going for it… even its own exercise video. It featured the actress Rika Kishida as Kaorku Rokumeikan (White Swan) doing calisthenics. She is accompanied by the rest of the Jetman team in suit (which probably means they could not afford to pay and/or convince the rest of the actors to be part of the video). Check it out! It is funny seeing the quirky routine to theme song from the series. The video was choreographed by Lucky Ikeda, a big name in Japanese television when it comes to choreography.

My first AMV

By SentaiSeiya on October 16, 2012

Today, while listening to some Japanese music at the gym, I remembered my first and only foray into making an anime music video. I made it during my pre-CDX days and looking back at it, I think it turned out pretty alright. I would definitely make some improvements if I were to make it today. The song is Shallow Sleep by Hyde. Its sad, slow melody and lyrics fit the anime source material well. Saint Seiya TenkaiHen Overture (the Heaven Chapter Overture), is pretty sad in tone. It begins with a broken Pegasus Seiya who is wounded from his battle with Hades.

Power Rangers Dubstep

By SentaiSeiya on October 04, 2012

In an interesting piece of viral media marketing, Saban has released a video featuring the Power Rangers getting down to remix of the Power Rangers theme, in the vein of the London-native, dubstep ... It almost makes we want to watch Power Rangers Samurai... almost.

From Afros to the state of the Anime industry: 30 minutes with Shinichiro Watanabe at Anime Central 2012

By SentaiSeiya on May 17, 2012

As a writer for CollectionDX, I recently attended the Anime Central Convention at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare.  I, along with other members of the press, got a chance to sit down with Shinichi Watanabe(better known as Nabeshin) and pry deep( past his massive afro) into the mind of the director that gave us such crazy, over-the-top Anime as Excel Saga and Puni Puni Poemi. His wacky answers to our (sometimes) hard-hitting questions had the whole room laughing.
