Hawkgirl

By starro on September 02, 2009

One of the newest additions to the Ame-Comi heroine series, Hawkgirl. This statue captures the likeness of the newest incarnation of Hawkgirl aka Kendra Saunders. Kendra/Hawkgirl was introduced in the early 1990's in the Geoff Johns/David Goyer Justice Society of America reboot and is the reincarnated wife of DC hero Hawkman. Both Hawkman and Hawkgirl are reincarnated Egyptian royalty-and trust me, it’s a LONG story.

Poison Ivy

By starro on May 26, 2009

This recent release of AmeComi statues includes Gotham’s other deadly duo: Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. These two sexy supervillains were paired up in Batman: The Animated Series and the affinity between them has stuck-becoming one of the Gotham/DCU’s more popular supervillain combinations.

Batgirl

In 2007 DC Direct began a new series of manga-oriented 9-10 inch tall statues, sculpted by Udon Studios and based on some of their best known female characters, including Batgirl, Supergirl, Power Girl, Wonder Woman, Cheetah, and Catwoman. These have done relatively well and the series has continued with Hawkgirl, Wonder Girl, Zatanna. In 2009 we will see Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Black Canary, Huntress, and new Batgirl and Catwoman statues.

Catwoman

The most recent Catwoman ‘look’ started with her recently ended series by Ed Brubaker and Darwyn Cooke. They and gave her a pragmatic ‘cat burglar’ outfit but with feline characteristics. This statue is based on this most recent cat burglar look present in the comics.

Supergirl

By starro on March 12, 2009

In the early 2000s DC brought Supergirl back as a big character into the DC Universe along with a new ‘spin’ on the character as part of an effort to increase her overall appeal. She was made again into a genuine teenager but she was given a bratty Paris-Hilton type persona. This is the Supergirl wearing the modified Al Plastino costume, which is perfectly captured in this awesome 1/6 statue (10’inch tall) of Supergirl.
