GIRLS' GENERATION: "LION HEART"

By Paris365 on August 18, 2015

GIRLS' GENERATION: "LION HEART"

"Lion Heart" is the lead track from Girls' Generation's 5th album, half of which is being released today with the other half being released tomorrow.

"Lion Heart" is the lead track from Girls' Generation's soon to be released 5th album. This time around, they're trying something a bit different. On August 18th -- the day of this posting -- they're releasing six songs under the title Lion Heart. But tomorrow, the 19th, will see the final six of the album's twelve songs released under the title You Think. It seems more like two separate EPs to me but the tracks are not being released in order, so it's like you get six seemingly random pieces of the puzzle one day and then the other six the next day, completing the puzzle.

GIRLS' GENERATION: PARTY

Blow up your beach balls, baby -- it's the obligatory GG summertime anthem!

"Hey girls. Do you know what time it is?" "It must be party time." "Here we go!"

You know summer has officially arrived when Girls' Generation release a hot new song about it being party time. Summer is even mentioned in the song multiple times. Can you beat that?

GIRLS' GENERATION: CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

By Paris365 on April 14, 2015

GIRLS' GENERATION: CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

Girls' Generation return with a killer new EDM/pop song and a sweet ballad to go with it.

Typically, Girls' Generation will release a song in one language -- Korean or Japanese -- and then release it in the other language later, sometimes as long as a few months later. But the Korean version of their new single, "Catch Me If You Can" was digitally released on iTunes (Korea and U.S. at least) on April 10th and the Japanese CD single is being released not long after on April 22nd.

GIRLS' GENERATION (SNSD): MR.MR.

GIRLS' GENERATION (SNSD): MR.MR.

It's finally here, Girls' Generation's fourth Korean mini-album, a six track masterpiece titled MR.MR. Seems like just yesterday they were releasing their latest Japanese language album, Love & Peace, but I'll take all the Girls' Generation music that I can get and if you're reading this then chances are you will, too.

GIRLS' GENERATION: "MY OH MY"

By Paris365 on November 06, 2013

GIRLS' GENERATION: "MY OH MY"

The gals of Girls' Generation are back with an uppity new Japanese single to pave the way for their soon to be released new Japanese album.

Girls' Generation have returned to the land of J-Pop for their latest single, "My Oh My," and it's quite the delightful tune. Interestingly, this one is more of a traditional pop song than a dance song, whereas most of their recent work has been more in the dance vein. Of course, that doesn't stop them from doing lots of cute dancing in the video, and it is kind of impossible to sit still while listening to it, but I still say it's more of a normal pop song than a dance song. Just my two cents though!

GIRLS' GENERATION (SNSD): GALAXY SUPERNOVA

By Paris365 on September 17, 2013

GIRLS' GENERATION (SNSD): GALAXY SUPERNOVA

"Galaxy Supernova," Girls' Generation's eighth Japanese-language single is a highly addictive number that ranks right up there with their best singles in any language.

K-Pop's most successful girl group ever -- I think it's safe to declare them that at this point -- is back, albeit with their second *Japanese* single of 2013 (and eighth Japanese single overall). And, no, it's not a Japanese version of one of their Korean songs. It's an original song in Japanese, the girls being so popular in Japan that they now merit that.

GIRLS' GENERATION (SNSD): LOVE&GIRLS

GIRLS' GENERATION (SNSD): LOVE&GIRLS

Girls' Generation's latest is yet another infectious jam from the girl group royalty.

Well, well, well -- another day, another smash of a single courtesy of Girls' Generation. This time it's a new Japanese single called "LOVE&GIRLS" and it's one of their very best songs to date, which is saying a lot. Although it doesn't change tempo or styles as often as "I Got A Boy," I would have to say that it's somewhat in that vein in terms of the catchy beats, infectious synth and the spunk the girls sing it with. ( "Get up, get up," the girls sing and you'll find it hard to sit still.

GIRLS' GENERATION: I GOT A BOY (TRACKS 3 - 10)

GIRLS' GENERATION: I GOT A BOY (TRACKS 3 - 10)

Michael continues his track-by-track rundown of Girls' Generation's latest masterpiece.

Since I already spent so much time writing about the first two tracks, "I Got A Boy" and "Dancing Queen," it seemed only fitting that I should give the rest of Girls' Generation's colorful new album a track-by-track rundown...

TRACK 3: "BABY MAYBE"

GIRLS' GENERATION: I GOT A BOY (SINGLE)

GIRLS' GENERATION: I GOT A BOY (SINGLE)

Girls' Generation are back with their most complex, mind-bending single yet, "I Got A Boy." And it's marvelous.

It was only a week or so ago that Girls' Generation unleashed "Dancing Queen," a four year old track that hadn't been released previously for whatever reason(s).

GIRLS' GENERATION: GIRLS' GENERATION II ~Girls & Peace~

By Paris365 on November 28, 2012

GIRLS' GENERATION: GIRLS' GENERATION II ~Girls & Peace~

Girls' Generation's second Japanese album is here and all 12 tracks are amazing!

Girls' Generation II is the girls' second Japanese album. And I'm simply going to review it as that. I realize that some of these songs were originally done in Korean, but I'm just going to write about the Japanese versions, basically pretending that the Korean versions don't exist. Because, for many of their Japanese fans, they don't. I'm just going to try to review the album as if I'm a fan who has never heard anything from Girls' Generation aside from their first Japanese album and the Japanese singles that appear on this album.

GIRLS' GENERATION: FLOWER POWER

By Paris365 on November 21, 2012

GIRLS' GENERATION: FLOWER POWER

K-pop sensation Girls' Generation have blessed Japan with this new Japanese language single from their forthcoming Japanese album, which drops in two weeks. And it's an immensely catchy song that demands your attention STAT.

Two weeks before the release of their new Japanese album, Girls' Generation are releasing their new Japanese single, "Flower Power." As with past singles like "Papparazzi" and "Mr. Taxi," "Flower Power" has been especially produced for their Japanese fans. It's said to be about love on the dance floor and that's not hard to believe. For one thing, it's impossible to listen to this song and not want to dance. It's bursting with dance pop energy, featuring a throbbing, punchy beat and lots and lots of glorious synth. Not to mention the girls' always perfect harmonizing.

GIRLS' GENERATION: OH!

By Paris365 on September 26, 2012

GIRLS' GENERATION: OH!

Having recently released two highly successful, original Japanese singles, Girls' Generation have finally decided to unleash a new Japanese version of their smash Korean hit "Oh!" And, I have to say, it's about time. I'd been wondering when they were going to release a Japanese version of this Kenzie-penned smash for ages. "Dance, dance, dance, yeah, we run this town," goes some of the English lyrics that kick off both the Korean and Japanese versions of the song. A perfect blend of dance and electro pop, I can easily see this one rising to the top of the Japanese charts.
