Yeah, that's going to be the best thing ever.

It does look much better than I had expected and the mecha looks kind cool actually. I cannot wait to next month, when this starts airing!

Ugh, looks like this will be the second Super Sentai in two years that I'll be skipping... Sad, really.

I don't really know that you guys are expecting; I mean, this IS Sentai and all. This looks par for the course, and I know that at least Jmann and I will be enjoying it.

Absolutely. Saying this looks too "kiddy" or "colorful" and not liking it is the equivalent of saying that you don't like Sentai.

That's what it's there for.

Oh, this has nothing to do with how kiddie-fied it is because, well, Super Sentai has always been a kid's show! Indeed, the earlier years of Super Sentai were probably on par with what we're about to see once more in "Kyoryuger". It probably wasn't until around the time of "Liveman"- the Series' 10th Anniversary, BTW- that they started getting more serious, dramatic, and somewhat 'dark'. "Go-Onger" was also pretty loose and silly, and before that was "CarRanger", "OhRanger", and "ZyuRanger".
I have no qualms about that whatsoever, and I can easily follow or ignore the TV series itself as I see fit.

My issue with "Kyoryuger" right now lies in the toy line, which looks atrocious. I liked almost none of the toys from "GekiRanger", yet it was one of my favorite Super Sentai Series ever.

In Japan, darker and more serious Sentai tend to do poorly (Ohranger and Gobuster), while goofier ones tend to be popular (Carranger), so I expect this one to do well.

I just want to state for the record, as the poster of this article, that there is nothing wrong with kiddy Super Sentai series. There is also nothing wrong with serious Super Sentai. Both types have seen their share of popularity. For instance, Toei was on the verge of cancelling the Super Sentai series after Fiveman. Enter Jetman, one of the more mature Super Sentai ever made. If you have watched the entire series ,you know that this series, unlike many others, did not pull any punches. It was a huge success and saved Super Sentai series from going away.

Now I think it is quite the opposite. Gobusters proved that serious Super Sentai just do not have the popularity they once did. So Toei is appealing to the younger audiences with a more lighthearted story. Toei is looking to change things up, in hopes of creating the next big series that will help them get out of the slump they are currently in.

Also, Kyoryujin looks way better in the promo video than in the low res catalog pictures we go last year. I think I will pick him up and review him over on CDX.

Good man!

Aside from some panel lines and hidden switches (pshh- hidden switches in the limb/parts swap era? Yeah right!), I don't think higher res pics of KyoryuOh are gonna change my mind; likewise any of the accessory mecha.

Much like I did for GoBuster, I'm gonna wait for second-wave mecha to determine if it's worth investing in the first-wave stuff.

It is a good strategy if you do not want to the spend money right away. But if this series does take off, getting the Kyoryujin might become an expensive endeavor, like the Shinken Oh was for a while. That's why I am buying in on the ground level on this one and hoping I enjoy the toy.
